In response to the LA Rams' RFP for a predictive gaming app, our team aimed to develop a dual-platform solution to enhance fan engagement through gamification. My role was to create high-fidelity mockups for our proposal presentation and subsequently work with developers to implement the design. With a tight deadline, the project demanded rapid development of a unique concept from scratch. The challenge was to stand out in an already crowded market of predictive gaming applications by offering innovative features and a captivating user experience, leveraging the LA Rams branding.
Design Process and Strategy
As the sole designer, I adopted an organized approach, prioritizing efficient workflow without compromising on creativity or detail. The initial steps involved thorough research, feature analysis, and wireframing. My strategy focused on differentiating our app by improving upon areas where existing applications fell short. I incorporated a ranking and achievement system to boost user retention and engagement.
Development and Presentation
Using the LA Rams’ branding package, I developed a comprehensive UI style guide. This guide included custom iconography, textures, button styles, and other UI elements, tailored for both mobile and web environments. The high-fidelity mockups, enriched with the team's colors and branding, were not just a pitch tool but also a blueprint for the development team down the line. The final designs, embodying both functionality and aesthetic appeal, were pivotal in our presentation to the Rams and set the stage for the subsequent development phase.
